For many years, the Swedish Air Force operated air surveillance towers around the country. Personnel were sometimes stationed in an attached barracks. This was also the case in Hummelmora until the 1980s.
The F-16 squadron in Uppsala leased the area with an air surveillance tower m/56 located at the top of the cliff. From time to time, visitors who have spent days as conscripts come here.
Nowadays, it is possible to rent the airmen’s cabin as a secluded and peaceful holiday home all to themselves in the forest.
The cabin contains eight beds in bunk beds and a single bed in its own room.
There is a wood stove in the kitchen and three stoves. No water well and no electricity. But solar cells that can power a lamp and charge a mobile phone battery. An outdoor toilet is located next door.
This is accommodation for those who want to experience nature and live in a simple and genuine way.
